Following an extensive public consultation with the local community, Kanda was delighted to see the proposals for 100 Grays Inn Road approved unanimously by Camden Council’s Planning Committee in May 2023.

Starting in June 2021, Kanda undertook an extensive public consultation programme, engaging with residents of the neighbouring Bourne Estate, local businesses and stakeholders, across a number of public exhibitions, door knocking sessions and meetings to understand the priorities and any potential concerns.

Since planning permission was granted, Kanda has continued working closely with local residents and have set up a Construction Working Group, allowing site neighbours to speak with the construction team, helping to ensure that the construction process is carried out carefully and considerately.

The proposals, brought forward by Global Holdings, will see the construction of the UK’s largest full timber structure, net zero carbon office building. In addition to the new 95,000 sq ft modern office building on the site of the former Holborn Town Hall, the project will also deliver huge benefits to Camden including six high-quality affordable homes and affordable workspace.
