We are thrilled to have supported the 1 Undershaft team in securing a resolution to grant consent for what will become the joint tallest skyscraper in the UK and Western Europe.
This landmark 74-storey development will deliver 154,000 square meters of cutting-edge commercial space in the heart of the City of London. The building will host Europe’s highest publicly accessible viewing gallery alongside a dedicated education space, providing a one-of-a-kind experience and reaffirming the City’s global leadership in innovation and opportunity.
We are delighted to be supporting a project which also underscores the City of London Corporation’s commitment to creating 1.2 million square meters of new office space by 2040, with 1 Undershaft alone accounting for nearly 13% of this ambitious target.
How we helped
Our team contributed to the success of the scheme through targeted initiatives with both the public and media.
Public engagement
We held five events across two stages of consultation and employed a number of tactics to support direct engagement with the community. This included events, pop-ups, social media adverts and website engagement to gather public feedback. One of our events had deckchairs set out in the City, enticing people to sit down and speak with our team to discuss their thoughts on the scheme.
Media and communications
To proactively manage the project’s media narrative, we coordinated press releases, prepared journalists through pre-briefings and issued statements ahead of submission to ensure a robust media coverage which positioned the scheme positively.
By combining on-the-ground community engagement with an effective media strategy, we helped ensure the successful mobilisation and delivery of a bold vision for the future of the City’s skyline.
